Tegal – Kari Bagong Village Government, Balaprang District, Tegal District has made a new breakthrough in waste management. Namely, by creating a waste sorting station (TPS) Kalibakung Berkah.
The area of the garbage chute in the village is 1500 meters. The site is also classified as complex because it uses conveyors or graders. Waste sorting workers simply put the waste into the rotating machines.
“The total area is about 9 hectares, and the area of the garbage chute is 1,500 square meters. Later, the rest of the land will be mainly planted with fruit crops, and currently there is also planted with cassava. There will also be durian fruit trees, avocados, bananas, etc. later. Later, from the village All rubbish brought from the house will be sorted there,” village head Kalibakung Mujiono told PanturaPost on Wednesday (August 3, 2023).
According to Mugiono, the principle behind the machine is actually quite simple. Freshly brought from the trolley waste is immediately placed in the sorter. Garbage will be dumped onto a conveyor belt. Before further processing, the waste is sorted into inorganic and organic categories.
There are several garbage disposal machines. These include conveyors (sorters), plastic shredders, dryers, presses, and larva rearing sites.
“Therefore, this waste treatment is widely integrated. Plastic can be recycled, organic waste can be used as larvae and fertilizer. Later, the larvae will feed fish in ponds that already have a lot of fish, and then provide fertilizer for the Cassava Plantation or Fruit Tree Plantation. Similarly, land for cassava cultivation is also vast. In the future, fish and cassava production will be abundant, which can improve the economy of the people in Kalibakung village,” he explained.
However, he said there are still some crappy tools that aren’t available yet. i.e. an incinerator tool used to dispose of non-recyclable waste such as T-shirts, cloth, burners, mining, etc. (*)
