Big Footprint: Homegrown Rowe Casa Expands Its Footprint at Texas Americas Center

NEW BOSTON, TX – Rowe Casa is expanding operations with the laying of a 24,000-square-foot complex at the Texas American Center.
With the expansion, it is planned to increase the workforce by hiring 55 employees when the expansion is completed, with a goal of adding 20 more.
Tim Cornelius, chief operating officer, said building a building suitable for Rowe Casa could take seven to eight months to complete.
“I’m a renter. I have a packing list and I’m going to pull everything as ordered. I’m going to print a label for it and put it on our conveyor belt for our shipment. People pack it. ,” She said.
Cornelius said founder Jill Rowe started making elderberry syrup to keep her family healthy when queues formed in her driveway.
Employee Jaycee Hankins demonstrates a cauldron of stewed elderberry over a conventional oven, mixing warm fruit syrup with pure honey.
“We sampled every batch we made,” Hankins said as colleague Stephanie Terral filled amber bottles with syrup.
Warehouse, packaging and shipping facilities will initially be located in the same facility, but will eventually be separated into separate facilities.
“There will be big roller shutters, new parking and a truck dock,” Cornelius said.
Rowe Casa produces a wide range of creams, lotions and ointments. The company’s body washes will eventually be prepared in a temperature-controlled work area.
Cornelius said that each product is completely natural and made according to the recipe, and the workers strictly observe every detail.
“Everything is very, very specific… to the point where you have to stir when you add something,” Cornelius said.
The company’s growth also motivated the founders to do something special for their employees, Cornelius said.
”We decided to hire a masseuse who would come once or twice a week. We barely had a registration form and the owners were paying for it,” Cornelius said.
TexAmericas announced the expansion of Rowe Casa on January 24th. Scott Norton, Executive Director and CEO of TexAmericas, said the home business space is part of the center’s efforts to support small entrepreneurs in the TExarkana region.
“I believe they have been in our ownership since 2019. We worked with them and invested about $250,000 in improvements for them and they made improvements,” Norton said.
